Hello all,
If any of you are like me this time of year wrecks havoc on a girls make-up due the season change. For some people, it seems like every season is allergy season. In the spring, it is the tree and flower pollen; with summer’s arrival the tree and flower pollen are joined by grass pollen; and in the fall it is weed pollen. For me my eyes take the hardest hit in spring resulting in Red eyes that itch, burn, and sting. My nose & throat coming in at a close second.
Well if you are going through allergy hell like I am .Here are a few tips that can help you get through these itchy & irritating days.
Tip # 1.
Allergy medicine, yes it is a must and at the top of the list. I currently favor Zyrtec, which is now an over the counter drug (yay) but, anything that kicks the itches for you will do. If none of the otc medicines work call your doctor for a prescribed medicine.
Tip#2.
Vaseline, yes Vaseline. After you have taken off your make-up and just before you hit the pillow. Apply a coat of it around each eye and nose. What it does:it traps all the floating monsters before hitting your eyes or nose preventing you from waking up to itchy eyes and nose. I even sometimes apply a little right after I put on my UDPP. It works wonders, believe me.
Tip#3.
Eye drops, whether you wear contacts or not apply one to two drops (any formula you prefer)to each eye before applying your makeup. Do this and your good for the whole day. If otc products don't work, there are many effective medications to help eliminate allergy symptoms, and by making a trip to the doctor for an eye allergy evaluation, he or she can prescribe the correct medication to help prevent irritation or itchiness from occurring. I also recommend wearing your glasses (if applicable) when you can just because nothing is worse then itchy eyes and contacts. Not a good combination.
And Tip # 4. Pay attention to the pollen reports. Your local weather channel or weather-related Internet site regularly gives the pollen counts for your area of the country. When pollen counts are high, restrict your outdoor activities when possible.
Do you have a tip that you think may help? If so please share.
Hope this helps
