Product Review: Illusions Cosmetics

Illusions Cosmetics, was created in 1998 by celebrity makeup artists and sisters, Janice & Denise Tunnell. The cosmetic line targets women of color and women who appreciate a vast variety of color palettes. The line is currently available at select boutiques and style studio in the United States as well as online.

I had the great pleasure of trying out some of the top selling products from the Illusions Cosmetics line. And let me tell you, I now know why they are top and best sellers. Lets start off with the Luster Lip Glosses. Retailing at $10.00 each, these high shine sparkly glosses are great for day or night looks. Theses rich toned glosses are great worn alone or as a top coat for your favorite lipstick. Always on a hunt to find a gloss that can last most of the day and keep my lips soft, and shiny with good color pay-off. Illusions Luster Lip Gloss did just that. They didn't leave my lips feeling sticky and most importantly I didn't have to worry about having that nasty crusty line of gloss that collects right in the middle of my lips after a couple hours. What I love most is that all of the shades are inspired by Cinematic favorites like, Brown Sugar, Carmen, Dream Girls, Honey, Mahogany, & Sparkle.

Next up I tried Eye Dusts, retailing at $12.00 each, these eye dust are multi-functional. These irredescent powders can be worn sheer or layered for a more dramatic effect. They also can be worn as cheeks, collarbone, or decollate highlighters . Another fun function is as a liner. Just wet and apply with a angled brush for a sparkly pop of color. I liked that the colors were soft and buildable making them great for day to night use. The cool part about these dust are that they come in flavors as well as colors. The flavors available: Blue Berry, Cherry, Cotton Candy, Lemon, Lime, and Pina Colada. And the colors available are: Bada Bling, Brass, Bronze, Burnt Sienna, Carnation, Golden Bronze, Green Slate, Lilac, Horzion, Plum, Olive Gold, Soft Rose, and Sky Blue.

Overall, Illusions Cosmetics products impressed me. The gloss is smooth, and creamy leaving my lips supple and soft. And the eye dusts were soft enough for every day wear but bold enough to make a statement on my eyes.
