Alright, Here is the scoop on the Makeup Show.
With this being my very first make-up show. I didn't know what to expect exactly. Yes, I knew there would be some of the biggest brands, top industry exhibitors (Click here too see a complete listing of the exhibitors) and celebrity make-up artist in attendance. However, my expectations were surpassed 10 fold. I felt like there was makeup, people and knowledge exploding out of every nook and corner of this chic and modern venue. And some of my favorite brands had no problem coming out to spoil me broke.
Case and point. MAC Pro. I knew they would satisfy that MAC itch I get when I need another makeup fix. They didn't disappoint me either. I got to see the entire pro line and I also got to purchase the Neo-Sci-Fi collection before it hits the masses.
After leaving that little piece of heaven , I walked the aisles schmoozing many different brands like Face Atelier (by the way, the foundation feels like butter which explains why Billy B. adores that product), Becca, Eve Pearl, Kissable Couture, Naked Cosmetics, Kryolan, Big Girl Cosmetics, Lancome and Make Up Forever just to name a few.
OMG!! I have always wanted to try M.U.F.E but, it wasn't until I saw Kevin James Bennett of M.U.F.E seminar on Hand'-ling High Definition Makeup that I knew this brand would become a new obsession. As many of you may or may not know effective February 17th, 2009 television as we know it will change to HD TV which will be a nightmare to all makeup artist every where. (more about that on a later post) Kevin did a demonstration showing the newly introduced HD foundation that is sure to please many because of its light texture and skin light look & feel. From there I headed over to Crown Brushes and nearly passed out at the sea of brushes being offered at such amazing prices. I got a lip brush, small and large crease brush for 8 bucks.

Speaking of prices. Did I tell you that everything at the show was discounted? Yes, friends discounted big time. Some brands were even allowing attendees to sign-up for discount cards right on the spot. Sweet!!
All in all. The show was amazing. I learned and purchased a lot and I'm already looking forward to next year. Though I only stayed for one day out of the two. I felt like I absorbed loads and loads of information and tips.
I wanted to include with this review a list of things to remember:
- Buy tickets in advance- the cost was 20.00 more at the door
- Make sure to bring with you some type of credential (license, business card, etc.)
- Though the show is usually held for 2 days. One day was enough for me.
- If your on a budget bring cash. It's hard not to over spend trust me
- Some exhibitors will have give-a-ways (it's always nice to get samples :))
- Network- how often do you get to be in the presence of like minded individuals from all over the world.
- Attend seminars, they were so helpful and informative
- Have fun.

Great review!
@ Scandalous Beauty-- Thanks so much
I love the fact that all of my fellow MUA's are on the east coast blogging, podcasting and networking away. It shows that some of us simply don't mind sharing good information. I commend all of you!

I'm so happy you had a chance to go slvrlips. Although i'm back at home in Cali, Teneasha had a chance to check it out and she said she had lots of fun as well. You did a great job with the pics and providing concise, yet valuable info. I felt like i was there by reading it. However, I WILL be in attendance next year :-)
