Hello Divas,
With more and more fabulous trendsetting celebrities taking the plunge of either shaving there heads or doing the big chop.
Silver Lips' inquiring mind wants to know, would u?
Silver Lips Answer: Probably not, a funky hair cut yes but, I have a weird shaped head and having it shaved would look a mess on me. LOL

is the last picture Lala from MTV?
I had to. My relaxed hair was just too much maintenance and breaking it off during the winter. It had to do a mental transition though because I thought that with short hair I'll look like a man, my hair will never grow, I haven't had natural hair since the age of 9 and forgot how my texture was...
plus I was also afraid of the reactions of others
As soon as I did it I felt liberated. OF course many criticized (I have to admit it really hurted me when my best friend said I looked like a man and no wonder I was still single with my hair like this) I received calls from Senegal asking me if it was true that I big chopped, my mom still hates my hair, but I also received compliments, inspired my little sister to do so and most importantly I am happy with how I look :)
phew...that was a long ass answer for a simple question..LOL
I forgot to say lately I've been receiving many nasty comments such as what were you thinking? We africans don't wear our hair like that...(LOL..last time I checked I was still African. I wasn't born on the continent but definitely grew up there) and my favorite: I used to be so pretty with my long and relaxed hair. Whenever I hear this I just want to say...euh..so am I ugly now? LOL
@ Amina, I personally think the "Big Chop" is the great & liberating. I wish I had the courage to really take he plunge. It's the side shaved thing that I find very interesting.
And how dare someone say mean things to you regarding your hair. You are gorgeous no matter what people say.
I can't...ever since my last haircut was a disaster, I've sworn off getting my hair chopped. My last touch-up was in April of this year, and I am really curious as to what the texture of my hair looks like.
After reading Amina's comment, I have to say that if your "best" friend had the audacity to tell you that you look like a man and that "no wonder you were still single with hair like that," well, she's not a friend at all. Her job is to be supportive, not tear you down! As for those who send you nasty comments, I say they're just jealous that they aren't liberated! :)
I would definitely do it in no time!!! I've been natural for 5 years now and I had good length and in March I chopped it all! it was super super super short and its so liberating!!
I don't like when just half of the head is cut it just looks weird and feel like telling them "make up your mind!!"
I love the cuts! There is too much pressure on us about the way we look! I say do what the hell you want and forget what people think or say!
not with the trend at all, but i'm so feeling solange!
