Do you remember that line and musical scene from "School Daze" ? "Talking bout good and bad hair whether your dark or your fair, so go on and swear see if I care, good and bad hair", well I do. "School Daze" is one of my favorite movies, so much so, that I may be one of the only people to own the soundtrack. In my younger years I would just sing that song and not really pay to much attention to the meaning but, as I grew older the song really started to touch home in regards to how women are perceived when it comes to there hair and complexion.
Hair has been a topic of choice for women of color forever. And Chris Rock's new documentary "Good Hair" will explore all the different aspects of hair, hair care, etc. I personally can't wait to see this documentary because it is going to be funny, yet enlightening.
"Good Hair" will be coming to screen near you in October.
